Who are we?
We are International Aid for Korean Animals (IAKA for short), a charity organization founded by artist and activist Kyenan Kum and based out of Oakland, California. As the International fundraising arm of KAPS (the Korean Animal Protection Society) and KAPES (the Korean Animal Protection and Education Society), we are dedicated to ending the systemic cruelty and abuse faced by dogs, cats and moon bears in the Republic of Korea through protests, campaigns and education.
Why did we build this website?
We believe in endowing children with a sense of respect and stewardship for animals and the environment. Our hope is to foster a new generation of animal lovers and bring about a change in public perception of how cats, dogs, bears, other animals and the environment are being treated by certain people today.
