Pronouns Quiz

Recently our beloved dog Zacky passed away. He was small, devoted and loved very much. I decided to adopt another dog from a shelter. I searched for an organization that helped people who were looking to rescue a dog or cat. I found a place with plenty of animals awaiting new homes. I went to the shelter for one dog but brought home two. All these little dogs wanted and needed was love, food and shelter. I had plenty that to give. Now they both lie beside me while I work or watch television.  I am lucky to have found them. They are the ones who have adopted me.

My husband and I live with our animals as a family. The animals are very clever. They(1) can open the big, back doors with a paw and they come and “ask” me to open other doors if they(2) are locked. They come in from the woods when we tell them it’s time to eat. The Swedish word for food is “mat” and they know it very well. But they impress me most when they watch me and try to find out what I plan to do. Will I let them go outside or take food from the fridge for them?

Animals are not unlike human beings. Ours are a part of the family and they(3) should all be treated with respect of course.
